Well, the drug itself is nicotine. The cigarette is the delivery device, just like a dip (for snuff) or a chew (for chewing tobacco). But yes, I think your statement is accurate. (For those not from the United States, I apologize if those terms don't make sense.) +5

It can be just as addictive and even worse because it's readily available. I just call it an addiction.
