Help answer this question below.

I sent my payment for the mortage in on the 12th of the month when it is due on the 16th. It was getting sent from CA to AZ. The mortgage company cashed the check a week later and charged me a late fee. What can I do? company refuses to reverse the charge

    Mail is taking much, much longer these days! You need to mail your payment sooner or pay online. Sorry!

    The 12th was a Friday. So you lost two days because of the weekend. It is possible it was late. Next time, get a mailing receipt from the post office when you mail it. Or mail it earlier or pay it online. It is hard to get those charges reversed.

    This is a scam, a lot of companies do this. You can't prove when they get it. (they could have gotten it as early as the 14th maybe 15th. (mail doesn't take that long now a days) But what happens is they get the check then someone in their office doesn't get it applied to your account. (and here again you can't prove when they received it) I sometimes pay online, and it still takes them a week to take the money out of my account. good luck I am sorry this has happen to you, money is tight for everyone now a days.. +5
