Sorry to hear about your bunny!! I had found my male rabbit like this. He was like a ragdoll. The vet wanted to put him down, but i refused. He said he had broke his spine. I said he is with me all the time, he is watched all the time, and his information was wrong. After doing lots of research on the internet, i found out he had a parasite that attacks the immune system and if caught early and treated with antibiotics it could cure him. Im so glad i stuck to my guns, cause he is still with me today 4 years later, totally cured after his antibiotics. And still totally adorable.

There are quite a few causes of head tilt. Your rabbit could have had one that would have caused a stroke like some sort of cerebrovascular accident. Sometimes head tilt can be managed, sometimes not.

Many vets know nothing about rabbits good ones are hard too find.most cases of head tilt or wry neck is very curable if caught early.

You're reading My rabbit recently had head tilt so why was he rushed to the vet after not moving and told he had a stroke and was paralysed when research tells me different ie that he could of been saved?confused?ideas?

how long roughly should it take to recover from head tilt, my bunny has been like it for about 3 weeks now, he is eating and drinking well but just has no balance at all, he is on septrim and panacur at the moment is there anything else we can do
