Dear Sir or Madam, Can a HOA force you to put something on the windshield of your car. I live in a gated community and The HOA Glues our electronic Gate opening devices on the windshield of our cars. They will only let you have 1 for each car you own.

    get a life. like this is a problem, ask for another and pay for it. If they won't give you one then move.

    It's not force if it is in the bylaws that you got when you purchased your home. Purchasing the home signifies your agreement to those bylaws. It sounds like the rule is not that you MUST glue a device to your windshield, but that you are not allowed to own a loose, non-glued one. That's pretty reasonable for everyone's [sense of] security.

    The HOA glues the gate opener on your windshield and they can't be removed witout deactivacting it.They want to control who can come and go in the neighborhood (some people want to let their Gardeners ,house keeping people pool Pet sitters.But the board will not let Them..IS THIS LEGAL??

    I guess it depends on what you signed / agreed to before moving in to the neighborhood...

    I wouldn't allow it. Suppose someone had a less than honest guest, who noticed and later [maybe while out one evening] took it off the windshield, and used it to gain access and later robbed houses?

    I believe hospitals use fingernail polish remover [acetone], paint remover to get super glue off of ppl. Should work here too.
