Well, for adult books... The Nightside series by Simon R. Green: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Something-from-the-Nightside/Simon-R-Green/e/9780441010653/?itm=4 I haven't read the entire series, because I bought the books out of order and I refuse to read a series out of order.. I read about 3-4 books and think they're fantastic. Lots of fantasy in them.. but it's modern day and in the real world. The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Historian/Elizabeth-Kostova/e/9780316154543/?itm=1 This is a Dracula based book... not a LOT of fantasy in it, but it's so fascinating and complex and in the end there's some fantasy. So, if you like vampires, this is interesting and there's some true history in it. For Young Adult... The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer... http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Twilight/Stephenie-Meyer/e/9780316160179/?itm=1 I dont think I have to explain this one, it's vampires and werewolves. I dont personally like the books.. but I read them all. The Everworld series by K.A. Applegate: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Search-for-Senna/K-A-Applegate/e/9780590877435/?itm=15 I read these when I was like 14. I loved them SO much. It's about a group of teens that get sucked into another world full of gods and goddesses and mermaids and all kinds of stuff. It's awesome. Tithe by Molly Black: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Tithe/Holly-Black/e/9780689867040/?itm=3 This I read, but don't remember very well.. it's said in modern time and it's about a girl who travels around with her mother's rock band. Then it's about some stuff with faerie kingdoms and stuff.. The Midnighters series by Scott Westerfeld: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Secret-Hour/Scott-Westerfeld/e/9780060519537/?itm=1 These are one of my all time favorite books ever. It's about this girl who moves to a new town and meets some other people her age.. there's a secret hour that only certain people are awake during. It's really awesome. Very interesting monsters in it. The Abarat series by Clive Barker: These are probably near my favorite books of all. They're so interesting and quirky. Kind of like a modern Alice in Wonderland.. only way more awesome. it's about a girl who gets transported into this other world where there are islands that represent certain hours. All of the islands are different.. over time there are twists to the plot and it's crazy fun to read.
