  • Jet engines!
  • Jet Engines!!!
  • jet engines!!!!!
  • For all who dont know there is absolutely no difference between those commuter prop planes you get on and the jets you fly on. Both are turbine engines and run exactly the same. The prop increase efficency and there fore is a better choice for short flights. The better question is what is better a recipocrating engine or turbine and the obvious answer is turbine.
  • It doesn't matter to me, I'm comfortable on either.
  • jet engines for sure, propellers make the whole ride rocky!
  • I'd be uncomfortable if the airplane didn't have some method of propulsion!!!! :) I like larger jets best, but I actually tend to just sleep on planes of any kind, so as long as I land safely, I'm good.
  • You do know that many airplanes have BOTH jet engines AND propellers, right? They are called turboprops, and many commuter airlines still use them. If you are intending to exclude all of these airplanes, I would go with jet engines as statistically, they are more reliable. If it is daytime VFR (visual flight rules), I feel equally safe and comfortable flying a jet, or turboprop. I would feel a bit less comfortable in the initial climb out in a single engine piston airplane.
  • Short final with wind sheer? Piston engine. Getting from point a to point b with altitude & speed? Turbine, prop or fan.
