Uh, because even if it really happened it was a wood ship that ran aground something like 5000 years ago. Its dust, man. My truck was made 16 years ago and its only held together by duct tape and will. Might as well ask why we never found the apple core left from Adam and Eve eating the fruit of Knowledge.

In 1957, aerial photos revealed a formation that resembles the outline of a ship on Mount Ararat. As yet, there is NO actual proof that the shape is Noah's ark, although there is supposedly an expedition set for sometime in August 2009 to attempt to enter and photograph the formation. Up to now, the Turkish government has not allowed anyone to climb Mount Ararat in order to verify exactly WHAT the shape really is and weather has not been helpful either. In 2006, another formation was discovered in Iran that 'resembles' a ship or ark. We'll have to wait for verification on both. Worthless without pictures and tangible evidence.

If it existed, it would have been the biggest ship ever built. The Noah tale is just a souped up ancient tail, probably related to the time when the Mediterranean was formed.

Because this is a very inhospitable planet and stuff like that would decay and disappear. Or maybe they took it apart and made shelters with it. It could of been hit by lightning and burned up. It might of been destroyed by termites - where is the Orkin man when you need him?

    1. Because it never existed.
    2. Because if it did, the wood would not survive this long.
    3. Because if it did and the wood did survive, there's no way to distinguish a piece of ark from any other old lump of wood.

Because it never existed. reasons/ 1. Imagine how big a boat would have to be to carry depending on which version you choose to believe, all in the same book, 2 to 7 of each species of animal on the earth. 2. It has already been scientifically, and archeoligically proven that the entire earth has never been flooded at the same period in time.

I don't believe there ever was such an ark. It's amazing we can find 2, 3 and 5 million years
old fossil of man and different animals but we can't find anything related to the so-called
Ark. Or maybe we haven't search hard enough, hunh?

Wood leaves remains. Not to mention the detritus of thousands of animals fecal remains from such a journey.

    Because it's a myth.

The logistics involved in the collection, care, feeding, and redistribution of all said animals, not to mention the work necessary to keep them all well fed, beggars the question: Why did god even bother with Noah's work, if God provided so many miracles to make it work in the first place?

And the sheer size of the ark, just it's empty weight alone- is enough to have it break up in a fairly calm water.

OK, i thought about it and Ive got it!

If you think that science and modern technology is the work of Satan then yes the ark has been found!

If not then there is no evidence of the ark yet.

oh yeah and if you use intuition, then through common sense you know what happened to it. (Your intuition is based on your beliefs. so common sense could tell you it did exist and what happened to it. Or it could tell you that it never existed so it has no disposition.)

I love how folks are saying it never existed like they actually 'know' . Anyhow, there are some folks who claim that they've found it, but truthfully noone really knows. That's possibly the best way to put it..."Noone knows" and anyone claiming to should show some kind of proof. Either way it goes, if they say it did, or didn't, show proof from a trusted website. :P

Wood rots, and I could see Noah taking it down to build its house. But many the wood degraded and God would make it became part of nature again.

It seems as though the Chinese people recently did.

    The Bible IS accurate.

This is just one more tiny piece of evidence to add to the mountain of Truth.

People who don't believe in God after hearing about Intelligent Design and irreducible complexity, would not believe in Noah's Ark if Noah himself came out of it and shook their hand with all the animals.

Of course God's Word is more accurate than the guesses of humans.

Why would anyone be surprised that the Word of God is correct and the guesses of humans who were not around is not?

The idea, as translated in the bible, is of an ark (boat) in our history. The son of man will return in a time similar to the time of Noah. This could indicate that this story is not history but our present. The word ARK is in fact based on a word meaning box or chest. Someone working on his heart (belief within a chest) for 7 years to preserve life (2x2 animals) could make some sense and might explain to the open minded why we have no proof of it's previous existance.

their have been some excavations to the known potential areas but their are many speculations about their findings,
secondly now it is illeagle to go hunting for it on those mountains, via govt and via the head of the local area (who you need permission from)
3rdly most years their it is extremely cold and snowy there (completely worthless to go then ) only in warmer years have people said that you can see it via snow melt, and it is extremely dangerous and rocky terrain to make it their.
    +2
    good luck on search.

bagicide stayed 10 months too long

You do realize how rare it is for ANYTHING to survive 5,000 years? Even those things made of stone or iron are rarely in recognizable form. You might find the foundations of a stone house, but its roof is long gone. Usually its walls have crumbled as well. You might find the bones of a person or animal, but its flesh is long gone. And you don't find the bones of EVERY person or EVERY animal, only those that were in favorable conditions that preserved them. And it is very difficult to find the remains of a specific item even when you know roughly where it is. There was just an article in Smithsonian about a man who has spent 35 years searching for Herod's Tomb within Herod's palace and he started knowing it was within the site where he was working. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history-archaeology/Finding-Herods-Tomb.html So how hard do you think it would be to find a wooden ship that is 5,000 years old that may or may not have left a trace within the thousands of square miles in which it might have come to rest?

I don't often call a question silly, but I think this one takes the prize.

It was built of timber...and over time, timber rots and powders...It would have been held together with tree-nails....hand carved wooden dowels slightly larger than the holes they were hammered into...and when water is applied. they swell some more making it tighter still...and they all rot away...

And as God does hate icons of any sort, things that might be used as objects of worship, He would have ensured that the Ark did not survive for any length of time...

    (Exodus 20:4-5) “You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. 5 You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me;

    Hi,
Amazingly despite being over 5,000 years old.
The remains of an enormous boat have been found by archaologists, underground on a high mountain in northern turkey.
This area is where the Bible suggests that the arc would have run aground and would have been one of the highest peaks of the area at the time.
True this might not be 'Noahs Arc' but ask, why on earth would a 5000 year old boat be that high up on a mountain so long ago?
It really doesn't matter if it is Noahs or not, to have survived so long would be miraculous really.
The strange thing is that the story is documented in all the books of every nation that was around after that time, passed down from father to son etc. and also understood to have occured in most world religions and by most archaologists in some form or other.
