Three minutes is not really enough time to do much of anything as far as boxing goes.

There isn't enough time to wear down your oponent or find weaknesses to exploit.

It is a combined test of your anaerobic energy system, speed, strength and fighting skill.
There is likely to be very heavy hitting, nonstop aggressive pursuit and very little dancing around.

I would suggest training with wind sprints and the heavy bag. Jabs are going to be pretty ineffective in such a short fight, except to distract your opponent and open him up for a haymaker.

Don't do too much blocking and dodging,of course you don't want to get hit hard, but to prevent hits use a strong offense, countering with punches rather than blocks, keeping pressure on them and keep them off balance.

If you keep after them, staying close and not letting them time to get good footing, then any punch they do land will not be thrown from a planted position so will have little force behind it, and will not be at full extension so will have little speed.

In this situation if they did get solid contact it is likely to throw them off balance even more, rather than impeding your attack.

Chase them down, run after them, don't let them get a rest or chance to recover, and then hope you really paid attention to the part about training your anaerobic energy system, so you can outpace them.

    Windsprints.
