Question

Help answer this question below.

My dog (pitbull) and he was just diagnosed with a Grade 2B Mast Cell Tumor. We already did the surgery to remove it but now are faced with Chemo for him. It is $2000.00! Has anyone gone through this with their dog? Success/No? Help.

Thanks. The other option is to do nothing, if we do nothing he only has a 30% chance of surviving longer than 2 years. :(

We have already spent $1000.00 in the last 2 months. He was sick once, and the rest for his surgery. UGH.

Sorry, I've not gone thru what you're going thru now. Our 16yr old terrier/poodle mix had cancerous tumors, which we had removed 4 separate times. We had been told once they were removed everything was ok, however, they may/or not grow back. They always did. No mention of chemo. After a period of time, we decided he was so old, it was kinder to him to not go thru any more surgery.
I'm sorry for you & your pet, but maybe another vet's opinion would help? In our case, it was just a matter of time, but you didn't say how old your dog is so I assume he's much younger. Perhaps another professional opinion would help.
    Good luck to you both.

awww, sorry to hear that, I have 2 pits, and I have never heard of this before....I hope it works out for you...those money grubbing bastard vets...they wanted nearly 5 grand to treat my dog for parvo...I did it myself with their dissaproval after they told me my dog had a 5% chance of living if I did it, and I couldnt get the things I needed to treat her. I found the stuff at a feed store and she made a full recovery for under $300...their option besides treatment was to have my dog put down..heartless bastards.
