Did the ABS Light come on as well?? If you want your car to perform correctly you should taks it to a shop and have it checked. They can hook toy car up to a scan tool that will ask the vehicle computers why the light is on. If only the Traction light is on it is not critical to get it fixed. Just remember your traction control system will not work when you need it.

You're reading My traction control shut off and the display said to service traction control system, this happened after I hit some bad bumps but did not come back on after restart do i need to get it serviced?

no the abs light did not come on.It works fine now no problems just wasn't sure if I should get it checked? thanks for the info

Most likely the big bump caused a spike in the data from some of the vehicles sensors. The spike was seen as a fault and the system shut down. When you restarted the system reset and all is fine. You probably wont have any problems again, as long as you stay away from that bump!
