I washed my 6 month old puppy with human soap which dried his skin out. He's still really itchy and has scratched almost all of his fur off. What can I do to help his dry skin and get his fur to grow back? He was tested for mange, mites etc came back neg

take him to a vet, you may have triggered an allergic reaction.

I work at a dog grooming shop and we use a special shampoo that can help with the dry skin. So maybe look into that.

My dog had horrible skin problems until we put him on a grain-free food.
I would go to a health food store and check out options if the vet does not solve your problems.

Yeah, agree with Boogysplit here, it does sound like an allergy. Vet has to take a blood test for the allergies. In case with my cat's skin problem's blood test has shown something typical to allergy had been increased. We took away chicken from her diet and gave Omega 3 - worked as a charm!

I read that dogs very often have skin and hair falling out problem due to wrong diet and too much carbs in their food.

Besides there might be tons of other reasons for this condition. The only answer is a good vet.

I'm assuming that you've taken him to a vet since you said he was tested for mange and mites.

If not, that's your first step.

If you have, why didn't they recommend anything?

Check with a vet first - but sometimes using a dog shampoo that contains oatmeal will help soothe itchy skin.

I think your dog is allergic to human soap! You really should have used dog wash shampoo! Try a bit of Omega 3 and breakfast oatmeal + chamomile or lavender in a sock or cheese cloth. rub it gently on your pet's skin. I hope it's fur will grow back though. Good luck.
