I was involved in Surf Lifesaving last summer (Dec-Feb, Australia) as I have been for the last 2 summers before that.
If you are talking about volunteering on a smaller scale, yesterday, I offered to go get some hockey balls that had gone through the fence. Our school really needs to fix the fence, seriously, half the shots that miss the goal end up going through a hole in the fence...
