The same thing happened to me. I called Apple and they gave me the solution: You have to use the Itunes program to transfer songs to your Ipod. If you have other songs in your computer that didn't get from Itunes you go to file, import and search for the song. Enter the song into Itunes, and transfer the song using "drag and drop" to your Ipod. I thought my new "shuffle" was factory defective, but that was not the case. Ipods don't function like other MP3 players. They depend on the Itunes program.

to put the new songs on just go download from limewire and the in itunes go to file-add folder and click the folder were you put your limewire songs. all your latest limewire songs should be on itunes now so now just drag and drop the songs onto your ipod and viola!
