My husband passed away 6 weeks ago. Filed will for probate where we live in Georgia. Received a document stating a guardian ad litem was appointed for my 3 (minor) children. Why is this since I am named guardian and executor under the terms of the will?

you must file the will with the court. If you have not it will go to the court as if he never had a will,or someone to care for the kids.
