Local newpapers, remember haggling is everything! Some used car lots have cars for under 400 in the back. They always require some work. I acctually picked up a 100 dollar car, ran great just because the person who posted the add for 500 was moving and hadn't sold it yet. Haggle. Score.

I have found them on Craigslist, in my local paper, and from friends-of-friends. For instance, when I was in desperate need of wheels, one of the guys in my gaming group knew someone who had a technically road-worthy Aerostar that they just replaced. It was unexpected as I wasn't actually thinking they'd know anyone so I didn't ask. The point is, knowing people and networking helps find ANYTHING.

And a really good place is to keep an eye on police auctions something that is a fair bid, I have a cousin that recently went to an auctions and he scored a awsome dodge caravan for the biding price of $500, and he has put on 30,000 km and all he has done to the van was to put gas in it at 28miles to the gallon and that is a steal
