Why Buttons on mens shirt is on right hand side and that of women shirt on left hand side.?

Well, this may just be a rumor but I've heard it had to do with men having slaves help them to get dressed years ago, so the buttons would be easier for a right handed slave to fasten.

Its because men are right handed and do things well with right hand , so ladies have buttons on left side so that men can open them easily as for right handed men its easir to open buttons for ladies from opposite direction..... Women are good with left hands, so men have button on right side, so that ladies can open them easily from their side..... this arrangement helps in better mutual understanding and coordination of actions to optimumly utilize each others talents for maximum results from the efforts involved...... (effect of my training class is evident in the reply... lolzzz)

There are lots of possible explanations but for me it makes more sense since our staff know which garment is for a man or a woman!In my NIFT class we always thought that it is easier to slip your hand into your gf's shirt better!LOL!
