Hmm actually I think I'm more of a spaz. Being bipolar is probably the reason for that!
52 % Nerd, 60% Geek, 39% Dork
For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.
You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.
Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one up there, winning the million bucks)!

I think most people would say I'm a nerd and perhaps they are right in some ways. But I've really stopped viewing myself as such. The popular belief is that a nerd is shy and doesn't have many friends and is highly introverted. I personally love to meet people all the time and I have no problem giving speeches so while I do have an introverted side to me, I've got too big of an extroverted side to consider myself any of the three.
I'm a nerd. I wear glasses, I watch anime, play video games (MMORPG's/RPG's mostly), love Star Wars and lots of other Scifi stuff (Hitchiker's Guide, anyone?), I actually own replica light sabers which are on display proudly on my 'mantle', I don't do sports.. I'm SO not active, I sometimes read comic books (mainly just the ones my friends draw), I have been to a few conventions, icluding 2 for anime and 1 for Everquest 1, and the list continues...
What's the difference between a nerd, a geek, and a dork?
Josh
Michigan
Dear Josh:
We've been called all three, and to be honest, we always assumed they meant the same thing. However, according to the cool kids, there are differences.
Official definitions for nerd, geek, and dork each use the words "inept" and "foolish." Nerds have the added distinction of being "unattractive." Ouch. While it's hard to argue with the dictionary, we sought out definitions from the Internet at large.
According to Whatis.com, nerds are people of above-average intelligence who place little importance on their appearance. Nerds are often aware of their status, but they don't mind. In fact, many take pride in the putdown, as it means they're smart and not wrapped up in superficial worries.
Geek is a more specific term. Back in the day, geeks worked at carnivals, and (according to the dictionary) "bit the heads off live chickens." Thankfully, the term now has a different connotation. Like nerds, geeks are smart, but they tend to focus more on technology. As Urban Dictionary explains, these are the people you make fun of in high school and later work for as an adult.
Being called a "dork" is the biggest insult of the three. There's no way you can spin it into something positive. After all, even the dictionary writes that dorks are "stupid" people. And to make matters worse, dorks assume they're cool. Oh, and they smell, too.
So, to sum things up, if someone calls you a geek or a nerd, thank them. If someone calls you a dork, consider going back to school and investing in some new deodorant.

Im a dork... I love star wars and I wear glasses. But you wouldnt say I was a loser or anything
Usually a nerd, especially a church nerd, because I love to learn about theology and the traditions and symbols and such things. I also like to do things like read wikipedia articles about some things, so I'd say that's more of a nerd, most likely.

Computer geek, and proud of it.
...
I'm me, but I've been called a dork, and it really doesn't bug me.
I'm socially awkward, nervous around strangers, and I commit all sorts of social taboos.
And that doesn't make me any less... me.
None of the above. I don't really feel a need to label and pigeonhole myself.
40% geek, 40% nerd, 20% dork.
Academia and an interest/talent for computers and electronics is enough to peg me on the first two.
My social shyness when I'm not acting in some official capacity or designated role is enough to get me on the last.
I'd say I'm a geek. The way I define it, geeks are almost the same as buffs. They are fans of many of those things that aren't socially acceptable to like that much. Like Star Wars, comic books, videogames, all that stuff. I, myself, am a big Classic Doom fan. You could throw in Star Wars too I suppose, but Doom is where it's at.
I've been called all three, just for being myself. However, considering the source, I may very well be none of the above.
Nerd. I'm a computer nerd due to my advanced knowledge of computers and interest in them.
to me i dont fit any ware im a mis fit that know who cares about. but i am usually classified as a rebel, outcast, bad girl. just cuz i have been through hell and have a tendacy to be a bit distrusting and out spoken
I'm definitely a nerd.
I have a vast amount of knowledge of useless facts and I excel at basically every academic category but very few athletic categories. In addition to all of this, I really don't have any one area in which I am a master; therefore, I cannot be a geek.
Definitely not a dork. Too smart for that.
I don't really fit any of those moulds exactly.
Hell, I don't really fit *any* mould exactly.
But I geuss of those three, I'm more in the Dork category, I don't have the technical savvy to be a nerd, geek is forever beyond my reach because it's too dignified of a title for me.
So I geuss Dork will have to do.
I believe that I am all three, although for years I tried really hard to cover it up by 'trying to be cool'... The thing is that even if I fooled some people, I always felt in my heart that I didn't fit in. What a relief it was when I realized that I could just be myself not worry about impressing anyone else. The best part of it is that the people that I am truly comfortable with are so much more interesting than the wanna-be rockstars that I was working so hard to fit in with.
I guess the thing that makes me a geek is I always carry books with me, no matter what. Also, when I take up a new hobby, I like to research it to no end and it's all I talk about. The thing that makes me a nerd is that I enjoy wearing what I'm comfortable in, rather than what is hip. My teeners tell me that sometimes I get it right, but when I'm off, I am totally OFF. lol. The thing that makes me a dork is that when I get caught up in whatever my latest fascination is, I often lose my sense of practicality and time. I have been known to read an entire book while still sitting in the bookstore, or drive away and leave my groceries sitting in the cart in the parking lot of the store. Once I walked out of the healthfood store with a bottle of supplements that I didn't pay for. They said that they knew I hadn't meant to steal them since I had left my purse, keys and cell phone sitting on the floor in the middle of the store.LOL!
im a geek for minecraft a java programming nerd and a dork because im clumsy.
no
That's easy. I'm a dork and a geek.

I am considered a geek because I have a pashion for physics. Ever since I was 13 I have loved quantum physics. I stated being called a geek when I corrected the teacher in a science lesson and I was right. I have learnt to love that I am a geek. I am openly one now, I am very proud to be a geek too. But btw I always thought that a nerd was someone who thought they were clever but they were actually really dumb and wierd??
What about me?
I'm clever, play a lot of sports, am good with girls
and I'm good around strangers, people don't know I'm clever unless they're in school with me, out of school some people think I'm just a gangsta because I'm black, what does that make me?
I am a dork, thats what my friends tell me.
i would say a geek
im i a nerd
i am a computer geek like cookie on ned i wear suspenders and a watch

lol Me too. We could make it a "thing", where we always miss, but then that would probably make us hit the target. Hmmmm.....
