Before foster care as we know it, there were children's homes. Someone among my kin was sent to one back in the 1930s. It was run by a church. The parents got their things in order so that the children could be returned, which is the objective of foster care as well.

I heard a kid went into foster because the family were feeding him/her too much. And the whole family was morbidly obese.

Well, i was put into foster care because my dad left my mom and my dad couldnt take me he worked two jobs, and my mother wouldnt go to rehab, and that was the only way, of me getting out of it. but she picked her drugs over me. Other kids dont have a family, and thats the onlt place to go, or they could have been abused, and removed from the home. theres alot of reasons.

1)Parent/s are druggies or abusive and none of the immediate family are fit to take care of the kids.
2)parent gave too much medicine to child and almost killed him (happened to the boy we adopted).
