My television had perfect reception, then heard a snap. The screen went dark with a green dot in the middle of the TV, it then went away and the TV quit working. No picture or audio. What do you think this could be?

If your tv is DLP, most likely is a problem with the DMD board. This is how it works: electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm
If its a LCD, you're having a light engine problem.

    Hope this helps :)

It's a sign from God that you're watching too much TV. Or that you have a problem with the power supply.

It's an indication that you need to RETURN the set to the store where you bought it, and get a replacement, under the warranty.
