  • They are being enforced. Problems occur when the incoming population vastly outnumbers the staff assigned to this task. The logistics are such that the laws can not be entirely enforced.
  • Immigration is a complex phenomenon, having strong positive and negative sides. Immigration laws in America (and other developed countries) are used for balancing the immigration, NEVER for the full enforcement.
  • It's the same with parents who "threaten" to punish only to hear their voice and feel in charge.
  • Because they are arbitrary and impractical. Like it or not, America is dependent on an "illegal" work force to do all the jobs that "legal" immigrants and citizens refuse to do.
  • Two simple reasons. 1) Cheap labor 2) Free tax money* for the government** *Recent IRS mandates to employers require withholding on all employees. Also, they do not verify social security numbers. Since illegals use 999-99-9999 as their social, and withholding taxes are paid, it is free money to the Gov't since that social will NEVER file an income tax return to get a refund. Why would the gov't enforce deportation on 20M people generating almost a trillion dollars** a year in tax revenue? **DISCLAIMER: I know the practice exists via business owners I have consulted with who are withholding on employees with no tax ID, approximately 50 of them. The rest is speculation as to the amount, but the general principle is still valid, regardless of the actual figures be they 1T or 1M.
  • Congress is very good at raising taxes but it is even better at making laws without providing funding to carry them out. . We lack resources to carry out our immigration laws and we also lack the will. . This is not to say that we could expel every illegal alien if we started enforcing like we meant it but we could (and should) reduce the number and slow the flow.
  • 1. Most of the laws are dumb to begin with 2. No money (all money going to wars for oils and bail outs of the rich) 3. They really aren't trying
  • There are lots of groups out there trying to protect the rights of illegal immigrants. The government is too worried about offending those people than enforcing the law. Fact is, that they really shouldn't have any rights. Enter this country illegally, you have no rights. That is my view.
  • Flakes come up with excuses
  • maybe theyre afraid to enforce them
