Is server-side scripting essential for computer networking?

    You need to be more descriptive about what you mean. Server side scrpts usually means that you are executing something on the web server side, or in some cases the database side. As opposed to client side scripting which is done on the client side (such as java script).

    If you're asking do you need to do server side scripting in order to write a web application that dose something usefull then the answer is yes.
