It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a prophecy or prediction. Conspiracy theories can only be constructed after the action has taken place.

the earth is always spinning on its axis and every few years it turns a few degrees, come 2012 it will complete its full 360 degree turn and it will fuck up the global warming, and it will be the end of the world as we know it, hide ur children and stock up on canned food, no one is safe and we will all die.

First off the prophecy (not conspiracy theory) Doesn't say the world will end, it says life on earth as we know it will change. Whether it be good or bad, who knows?

The whole thing is pretty ridiculous. Actually, the entire human obsession with The End of Days is pretty ridiculous. The following years (just in Anno Domini) have been linked with at least one "End of Days" theory:

Now, granted, just because we've been wrong hundreds of times so far doesn't mean we won't get it right eventually. But, the odds are not in our favor, in terms of accurate prophesy. At this point, we're more likely to just "get lucky" and guess the right year than we are have a truly accurate prediction based in anything other than nonsense.

Our planet experiences major Extinction Level Events (ELEs) - which I define as an event leading to at least 20% of life on Earth being destroyed - every 10,000,000 to 150,000,000 years with an average interval of around 60,000,000 years. Those dates are as follows:

    530,000,000 years ago
    500,000,000 years ago
    445,000,000 years ago
    375,000,000 years ago
    325,000,000 years ago
    260,000,000 years ago
    250,000,000 years ago
    200,000,000 years ago
    60,000,000 years ago

Now, we're due for an ELE, for sure. There is probably to be one between now and the next 20,000,000 years. But, to keep that in perspective, humans have been agrarian for less than 10,000 years. The amount of stuff we, as a species, will do to ourselves in the next 10,000 years greatly outweighs any cosmological/geological catastrophe that might kill us off in the next few million.

Final thought: "End of Days" theories/prophesies are marketing tools.
