  • Yes I do, and no I don't.
  • Yes. And no. I've lived without one for most of my life, the only reason I *really* need it is for calling my mom to find out where and when she's picking me up from the mall and other places, but otherwise, it's more of a material possesion to show off =) lol
  • yes i have a phone...i dont really need it but after not having it for two months (because it was lost) i found that it is actually quite useful
  • Yes I do own one and no I don't need it.
  • Yes, I own one. Yes, I need it for emergencies.
  • Yes and yes. I commute, so if my car breaks down (and it has) it's nice to have.
  • Yes. (That answers both questions.)
  • yes i have a cell phone and i call it my bitch cause it has to be on me always.lol
  • yes i do own one..no, i dont really need it -though it was my dad's idea to get one..why he wanted GPS and bluetooth with still camera/video capabilities, and he still doesnt know how to access these features, is beyond me..i have better luck.
  • Yes. Of course I don't need it, I lived 35 years without one. It does come in handy when I want to phone in my order to the Chinese take out and it's ready when I arrive.
  • I do own a cell phone and yes I really need it. I use it for all long distance its cheaper than a land line, plus I am disabled and I use the cell when I am out riding my power wheelchair in case I have trouble with the chair. I have blown fuses as to where the chair dies and won't go at all. I do carry extra fuses but it is a pain in the ass to try and fix it in the midle of the street or in the middle of the sidewalk. I have also made a mistake by not watching how much power is left in my batteries and the chair dies it is nice to have the cell to call someone so they can come and pick me up in the van.
  • No and no.
  • No, of course I don't... oh wait hold on I have a call....
  • Yes I own one but I spilt wine on it this weekend and now it won't switch on. I really need to get my numbers off it. I just tried to phone my best friend but I can't remember the number, it was some Scottish woman who answered. I feel completely cut off from the world. HELP!!
  • I own a cell phone and I once thought I absolutely needed it, but after breaking my phone and not having one for a few weeks, I relized that yeah it's a hassle not to have one, but that it's not the most necessary thing either. Most of my friends think it's so crazy that I don't always bring my phone with me when we go somewhere. I'm in my 20's, to not have your cell attached at your hip is unknown.
  • Yes I own one, and I don't really need it (but I like to have it in case of emergency).
  • No. My company gave me one so, Yes I do need it. I have to call into the office at the end of the day to let them know I made it off site safely.
  • Yes I do, it can make calls... but I got bored with all the other million features that came with it.
  • I don't own a cell phone. I have 2 cell phones that belong to other people. One is the phone for my brother's computer service, I answer the phone and schedule appointments. The other is a phone that belongs to my father, he lives in Delaware and I live in Kansas. He sent it to me so I could call him whenever I wanted. It doesn't get used much, because in this area it is a long distance call, so my family avoids calling me on it. I really need them for the purpose they were given to me, but I lived without a cell phone before I had them, and would have no problem going without again.
  • I own one and its been lost for a month! I really don't need it. I cant wait till my contract is up in April, so I don't have to pay for a cell phone I don't use!
  • Yes, and yes.
  • I have a cell phone but often don't have it turned on or carry it with me. I make phone calls only when I have to get or give information. The main reason I've got one is that there are fewer and fewer pay phones around these days.
  • yes i do but sence its turned off no i dont but if i had the money to pay the bill i would and yes i do need it cuz my family is always on red alert.
  • No and yes. It's so freakin' inconvenient to NOT have one. UPDATE: I got myself a cell phone about a two weeks after this was posted. Phew!
  • I got the best slide phone ever. Yes I need it.
  • Own 1, use 2.1 is from work. I do really need it- if get stuck in traffic and I am going to be late I can let people know. Or if someone needs to reach me on an emergency basis, they can. (this has come in handy more than I would care to mention!) If I forget something important and have left home or work- I can call someone and take care of it. With all the free minutes I have, its cheaper for me to keep in touch with friends and family on nights and weekends than by using a land line.
  • Remember the good old days when you couldnt be reached? I miss them so much, I get calls all the time work and personal. Now I can't get a minute to myself, I have tried turning it off, but I need to be in touch with work and so its impractical. The only time I am free of it is when Im on the underground (in London).... bliss!
  • Right now, definitely. It's my only resource for phone calls at the present.
  • Yes I own a cell phone. I find it very useful! As I live alone and am rarely home anyways so I had my home phone disconnected and use my cellphone for everything. It really suits me and my lifestyle and I was able to get a really great package and is actually cheaper then what I was paying for my home phone.
  • Yes! & definitely YES! Can not live without my mobile phone it's with me all the time...I know I'm extreme.
  • I do own a cell phone. I work for a cellular service provider, so in my case it is vital to have one so I can be more knowledgeable about the cellular world. Would I need it if it weren't my career? Probably not, but they sure are fun. Plus...they got rid of all the pay phones.
  • yes and yes. i do not have a land line so i need some means of communication. that and i am rarely home so this is just easier.
  • yes and yes, I do not have a land line I only have a cell
  • Yes i think every one needs a phone especially from optus cause i own a shop with them.
  • I'm the last person I know who bought one. So far, I have never really used it for an emergency. Don't use it much at all.
  • Yes and no
  • lmao yes i have a cell phone and ofcourse i need it dude if i didnt have my cellphone i wouldnt kno wat i'd do! i'd go crazy im a phone addict! lol
  • Yes, and sometimes I need it. I always keep it in my car's glove compartment. I only take it with me if I am at a Doctor's Office or any other place away from my office, and that happens maybe once or twice a month. I never hold conversations with my cellphone, only basic back and forth communication. I consume some 30 minutes a month out of my 200 minute plan. Do I really need it? Well, for me it is like my spare tire. I may really need it. UPDATE: About six months ago I switched the same basic Nokia phone from a 200 minute plan to pre-paid. I purchase $10.00 of minutes and a month and a half later I have to purchase another $10.00 worth of minutes because if I don't all the minutes will expire. I bet the phone company doesn't like me....
  • A GOOD PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE DON'T, BUT THEY WON'T ADMIT THEY'RE ENSLAVED TO THEM. A LITTLE WHILE BACK IN ENGLAND THEY DID A SURVEY AND 86% OF PEOPLE SAID THEY COULDN'T GET THROUGH THE DAY WITHOUT THEM. WHAT DID THEY DO 10 YEARS AGO THEN ???
  • i have a little motorolla something its not fancy no camera no texting just a flat cheap 350 min. a month just enough to get a call for a ride after school and maybe a phone call here and there.i definetly rely on it but everyone has different situations with differents needs
  • I only use any phone for emergencies, so yes, it comes to be cheaper for me than a landline I never use.
  • recently it went back for repair and it made me realise how much i rely on it.
  • Yes I own a cellphone for business. I need it so I don't have to be tied to a desk in the office. I can make money on the go.
  • i own a cell. i don't suppose it needs to go everywhere with me but i don't have a land line and i do think that having a phone is important. i think it was ingrained in me when i was little but i'm always worried about having an emergency at night and not having a phone to call for help.
  • yes i have one, i sometimes need it, sometimes not but no matter what i still bring it for emergency purposes..
  • No, i can't say that i own one, but i do wish to own one. I guess i wouldn't really NEED it, but it would be AWESOME.
  • The city I work for just started paying for us in I.T. to carry cell phones. I never wanted to carry one; I hate having to carry things around "just in case", and I hate being reachable at any time (or would, if I every turned it on or carried it except when necessary). I hate having the mindset (or would, if I did) of carrying it for convenience in case of emergency. Things like that make your mind busy and get you in a mental state where you have to know everything NOW. Jeez, take a breath or three, and leave it off. Or am I babbling?
  • yes i do, yes i do.
  • No,I don't own a cell phone. I do think at times it would be handy to have one, for instance when I'm traveling alone, but otherwise I don't think I need to own one.
  • Yes, I own a cell phone. For awhile it was the only phone I had in the house and after my car died, it was invaluable because I live out in the country and nothing is in walking distance. I also have a yr. and half old little girl so it provides a measure of comfort if I need it in an emergency. Now that I have a landline phone and dsl, I use my cell phone when I'm taking calls for work but it's not necessary because I'm ususally just txting my boyfriend but I have had to use it when I've run out of gas while driving to my house in bfe and it was definatly necessary then. So yes, it is necessary.
  • I have one and I really need it.
  • Right now Yes and No not really but I will need it soon.
  • of course i own a cellphone...and hell yeah i need it, if i ever leave my house, how else will i be able to check how many AB points or facebook friends I have...if i ever leave the house
  • Yes. I used to need it more because until a year ago I didn't have a house phone. Now it's useful but not essential.
  • Yes and preferably no. I would love to not use it but (which I did for two months which was heavenly) it is almost impossible if you're working.
  • YES! There is absolutely no way Id get thru half a day without it!
  • Yes I own a cellphone. I do find a use for it. It is a good way of communication with my friends, and in case of emergency it is very helpful.
  • Yes... and, unfortunately Yes . I wish I didn't need it.
  • No, I don't own a cellphone. I don't want a cellphone. I know it's unusual for a computer geek/technology person of my generation to not have one, but I REALLY don't want people to be able to get a hold of me, and if I really need one, I can find a phone to use.
  • Yes I do, quite a few because I have them for the States as well as the rest of the world. Yes I do need the business ones and would feel undressed without at least one phone in my bag or pocket. Funnily I do not actually use them that much just feel weird without the comfort zone.
  • Yes I have one. Although it is very useful, as a former military survival instructor I used to teach stone age technology to stay alive, so I know I do not absolutely NEED it ... but I do absolutely WANT it.
  • No i don’t own a cell phone i bet i am the only 20 year old girl here who doesn’t own one i find it quite useless for myself and a waste of money yeh some people might need it for their job or something but i don’t really need it, if i do need a phone i could go to the pay phone or use a friends phone as of right now in my life no its not essential.
  • Yeah you do. A cellphone can save your life in an emergency that's serious. You also got tv on it like v-cast so yeah.
  • Yes i have a cell phone, and yes i definitely need it. Not only do i use it for emergencies, but if you are meeting someone somewhere or trying to find a place or something it can be really useful.

  • yes i have one but no i relly don't need it
  • Yes. As a former military survival instructor, I taught stone age technology like starting a fire with ice made from hand melted snow, shaped into a magnifying glass. I could survive without my cell phone, so I do not consider it to be a "Must" have, but it is definately on my list of "Should" have.
  • Yes. I feel as if I've had my right arm cut off if I forget to take it out with me.
  • No and unless I was traveling alone a lot, I don't think I need one. Besides, up here on this hill, mobile phones don't work. I'd have to get in my car and drive about 1/2 mile or else climb a tree and hope the weather was cooperative.
  • Use to own one, got rid of it when I lent it to my cousin for the week (she was going for on a trip and I felt nice at the time) then got it back with well over a $600 bill. As of now I can say I'm happier without the cell phone, lets me get away from people :D
  • Yes, I use my cellphone 24-7. I have clients, family, friends calling me all day.. I get tired of so many calls sometimes, but, yes I really need it.
  • Yes, i work alone in the evenings visiting elderly peoples houses in the area where i live. Often i need to call the 'out of hours' emergency team if someone has fallen or is unwell. Also during the day if im out i need to have my phone as if my boss needs to contact me she can get me on my mobile.
  • No, I have never owned a cell phone. I don't need one, I make all my phone calls from my landline, which is expensive enough. The world got along fine before cell phones were invented. I find them very annoying and studies have shown they cause more car accidents and can even cause brain cancer.
  • I use my mobile for socialising and emergencies.
  • yes and yes.
  • I have one and I do need it. We don't have a house phone amongst me and my roommates, so I keep that around. I rarely use it but keep it around just in case someone wants to contact me or I want to call someone.
  • Yes, It is how my employer get it touch with me when she has a job assignment for me and also how my grandsons keep in touch with me. So yes I do need it.
  • Yes and no.
  • I have one from the company. I don't use it much for leaving it on slows me down. I like to get the first job done before I get put on a different one. And for myself I don't really need the cell phone, because I am a Ham oper: & I can use it to do job. Plus it cost less...M.C.S.
  • yes I have one, I need it for my job and my kids like using it to take pictures.
  • i have two and i use them alot although i am not a business man but i do have a very looooong contacts list who keeps on calling me :)
  • Yes and sort of. I'm not a fan of talking on the cellphone but I can go on for hours with a landline. HEHE, weird. It's really for emergency purposes when someone wants to get a hold of me.
  • yes.. i dont have a home phone and i use my mobile constantly.. i once accidently left it at home when i went away for a week and i felt completely lost without it.. it is my clock, my calendar, and my lifeline to the outside world!
  • Most people don't relize that cell phones aren't all that great. (No, I do not own one)

  • yes for transit
  • no, I don't need one and I don't want one...when I am away from a phone I enjoy being incommunicado.
  • I use a cellphone every day, because I don't have any other phone. I haven't needed or used a wired landline phone in over two years!
  • I think that everyone should have a cell phone as it is the easiest way to contact people in this crazy modern era.
  • yes and no
  • Yes I own one, but no I don't need it. It's in the car and only use it when I really need to. I could easily live without one! *whispers* might actually get some friggin peace without it lol
  • yea a buy one get one free, one for Ma and one for me. Yes i do use it for emergencies.
