I personally don't agree with it because I think that an eight year old is old enough for other things and won't need breast milk at the age.

I think it's unusual and I wouldn't personally prefer it, but there also isn't anything wrong with it. Anyone who says otherwise is viewing breastfeeding in a perverted way. This isn't any different than a child who still sucks their thumb when they're "too old" to still be doing that. Just because other kids are different, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with these kids.

Mom has her justification. Instead of knee jerk reactions we might look into her reasons. she may turn out to be right. She recognizes that it is comforting to her children and they seem well adjusted and appreciative. It's fine.
