Mom has her justification. Instead of knee jerk reactions we might look into her reasons. she may turn out to be right. She recognizes that it is comforting to her children and they seem well adjusted and appreciative. It's fine.

I think it's unusual and I wouldn't personally prefer it, but there also isn't anything wrong with it. Anyone who says otherwise is viewing breastfeeding in a perverted way.
This isn't any different than a child who still sucks their thumb when they're "too old" to still be doing that. Just because other kids are different, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with these kids.

its odd. I have a 7yr old and im breastfeeding my 7month old and looking at my eldest with her full set of teeth, some of them adult, i could never imagine her suckling...Ew
