In the story of "GOLDILOCKS," isn't it "strange" that the Mama & Papa bear slept in SEPARATE BEDS?

there was a time when it was associated to cleanliness, and in some aspects romantic....there are different reasons, but it used to be the way things were, from reasons of religion, to personal ones.

Perhaps slightly, Trivially. Perhaps they liked beds so different they could not comfortably have slept together. This doesn't prevent visiting... and if they had not had separate beds, the story would not have had the power that comes from things cappening in sets of three So don't worry about it. I imagine Goldilocks would have ben more traumatized by the bears eating porridge and sleeping in beds at all.

LOL, Yes, I never understood why they did that, our parents slept in the same bed. -
That whole freaking story is plain weird. What a thing to teach to little kids. I remember hearing it as a child and I liked it though.

Bears living in a house is strange. As for separate beds...my grandparents slept in separate beds so as a kid I figured Mama and Papa bear were just old.

Well, put it this way, you saved me telling my daughter a good night story,lol...I reckon the moment baby bear went to bed and Goldie went home, they secretly pushed the beds together ;)..Zzzzzzz

It's an old fashioned story. Haven't you seen old movies where people have twin beds? Also there are married people who sleep in separate rooms.

Not really. From Victorian times until the 1950's, couples were advised to sleep in separate beds so that they would be sexually restrained. It seems weird now to tell a married couple not to have sex, but in the early 1900's, doctors perpetuated the idea of spermatic economy. Sperm was believed to be a man's life force, and that it only existed in limited quantities (apparently none of these doctors observed a real man), so he was only supposed to have sex no more than 12 times a year. Sharing a bed with one's wife would supposedly be too much temptation for the couple.

Maybe Papa bear snored and Mama bear was too plump..that's how it ended.

Fairytales bears, beavers, chipmunks, monkeys walk talk and do stuff like humans - it's more interesting to the kid. Do you like fairytales?

Maybe they were legally separated but had joint custody of their cub.
