Why do people read books when they can watch tv or go on the internet instead?

Reading books is a different sensation. I like television, but it doesn't provide the same mental stimulation as books do, and I love the internet, obviously, but I wouldn't read literature off of it, because of eyestrain from the screen. I'm also nostalgic about books. I love the weight and feel of them. They are physical entities.

although you can learn alot from tv and the internet i guess there is something about the old traditional book that people still love. and it's less complicated it don't crash or get viruses or lose connection...its just simple i guess :)

You will surely find a very illuminating answer within yourself when you read it (any kind of book, one that you like). A piece of advice: do not look for a feeling when you read it...just feel whatever arises into your being... all that understanding, imagining, creating, decoding, ...just let it be. I find a book better then whats on tv and internet does have its advantages, but it doesn't have whats in books. Books open a new world to your imagination; you become apart of it in a way. I also thought that the books were better than the movie. Because there are things the movies leave out, and that can be disappointing.

When you are reading a book, you can really get into the story. It is intimate and cozy. It is always waiting for you, to pick up and finish that story you really want to read.
