Help answer this question below.
Cats and kittens are the cleanest animals you can have. If it went to the bathroom on the floor, that means there is something wrong with it. Either it has a condition known as UTI which is an infection. It hurts to go to the bathroom if she has it so they avoid the litter box because they associate it with pain and you need to take her to a vet. The other possible reason is the litter box. It has to be cleaned every day and washed out once every week or two. If their litter box is not clean, they will not use it.

Okay well i cleaned it out last night but i havent washed it in a couple of weeks, although since last night she hasnt went at all, shes just walk around her litter box, crying and meowing i think she wants to go, but when i cleaned it, it smelled like poison like really really strong nasty scent and i think she doent like that, does it mean that its really dirty or she ate something that made her poo smell, does pee smell that bad? . LMAO, nevermind she just went, lol. I've got another question tho, she chews on everything (another reason why mom wants to get rid of her) wood, blinds, table, body parts, couches, my PSP, anything she sees she chews on, its really bad. Have you ever heard of a cat chewing on anything and everything it sees? I've tried everything btw. The water, tap on the head, sounds cruel sorry, i dont hit her hard tho just a tap, ive tried picking her up and giving her another toy, at this point im thinking about getting her a bone to chew, lol. Got any other tips?

If the litter box smelled bad to you it smelled twice as bad to your kitty. Only use soap & water to wash it Best to use a brush to make sure you get it clean. Then rinse and rinse with clear water, dry it and put fresh litter in it. If she went then I suspect that was the problem. You must clean out the mess every day or you will continue to have a problem. As for chewing she is a kitten & teething. Give her lots of toys to keep her occupied & she must have a scratching post. You can buy something at a pet store called "Bitter Apple". It is a horrible tasting liquid that you coat anything she is biting, including blinds (make sure the blind cords are up where she can't get tangled in them. Many kittens get strangled by the cords from blinds)Bitter Apple tastes terrible but is harmless. Do a Google search on "how to keep cats off furniture" there is lots of advice. Do not tap her on the head. Cats don't understand hitting or disciple. Educate yourself to be good pet owner

K thank you very much im trying my hardest to convince my mom not to disown her, i love her so much, Ever since i got her i have a new respect for animals, one more question tho. Can i put that liqud, bitter apple, on wires? We have an A/C and if she chews on that she's probably gonna die and most likey start a fire if she chews through it.

Brownnugget the bitter apple was originally made for the purpose of putting on wires and cords. It was later found it worked on many other things too so you can put it on anything the kitty chews including wires. I'm glad you are learning about animals. They are wonderful and can bring a lot of comfort and joy. They don't ask for anything in return except to be loved and cared for. They love you back no matter what mood you are in or how badly you may feel. Good luck. I think you will do well.

Thank you oh so very much, well appreciated i might invest in getting her fixed, which might fix some problems, again thank you.
by brownnugget on June 20th, 2009
BN getting a pet fixed is the first big responsibility for a pet owner. It is only by doing this that we will ever eliminate stray and feral cats. There are so many pets available at the Humane Societies and rescue groups that it is heartbreaking. Not only that but by getting your cat fixed it will extend her life by years and make the years she does live better because there will be less physical ailments. In the long run it not only saves money by not having to take her to the vet as often but it saves lives as well. Another added plus when you do is that she will not want to wander and will be much happier staying with you at home.
