2003 ford taurus when i am driving it it starts jerking and sputtering until i let off the gas for a second then it will run good again for a day or so. What would cause that?

Start with the fuel filter. Changing it is routine maintenance anyway. If that doesn't help. have the computer scanned to see if there may be a sensor going bad. I'm betting on the filter though.

You didn't say what the mileage is, or if there are any constants such as what the fuel level might be when it happens; could also be the fuel pump.

If your plugs haven't been changed lately, I would give that a shot also.
