• Christians such as myself believe the Bible was written by God. People who say the Bible was written by people are thought to be non-Christian. If you are not Christian or interested in becoming one, what interest have you in the Bible?

• As far as I'm really part of a Christian community, it's protestantism. But I was told (yes, in church) that the Bible was written by man.. And to me it also really sounds... uhm.. bogus (?) that God wrote the Bible. For example (okay it ís the New Testimony (not sure if that's the name in english)) covers the story of Jesus in multiple viewing points with rather substantial differences. And I believe that Job was written by Job himself. Although rumors have it that it was either Job or Moses... Anyway, what I'm trying to point out in wáy too many words, I believe in God, but I try to be realistic and it just seems impossible for the bible to nót be written by man... That could have been a shorter comment.

• Written by men inspired by God. The men wrote down what God wanted them to write down. So the men were just the instruments to get the stories on paper/papyrus/tablets. God is the One who gave them the stories to write.

• pokeypup is right. Anyway, the Bible says it was inspired by God. If you don't believe that how can you take anything written in it for real? God, Jesus, salvation, all of it would have to be a lie.

• Well, as I've been taut, the Bible tells stories which aren't always true, but they teach you how to live. It's a book of guidelines more or less. And being critical as I am, I'm satisfied with the fact that I don't have to take anything for granted. Metaphores might even teach you better than the real stories behind them.

• So you have been taught that the Bible is full of lies and you are okay with that? Who taught you that? If they were a member of the clergy then they are blasphemers according to the Bible and will suffer a great punishment for leading children astray. That isn't my judgement, I'm just repeating what God wrote.

  I believe the Bible is 100% true, accurate, and written by God. Without that belief to stand on I would have very week knowledge of and faith in God.

• You're the one calling a metaphore a lie... But the funny thing is, I can't convince you of my belief, and you can't convince me of your belief.
