Yes. But they weren't tears of emotion, they were tears of "ouch, it really hurts when your girlfriend slices you across the stomach with a kitchen knife after you try to hold her face to a hot burner on the stove" sort of thing.

I should point out that he's not "my man" anymore. The whole knife/stove thing pretty much marked the end of our relationship!

I have several times, and it makes me feel quite helpless because he is hurting and I can't fix it.

I saw a few tears like twice. I didn't freak out because it was over his grandmother dying and his doctor putting him on some meds that messed him up and he didn't understand what was happening to his body. i just held him close and let him get it out. I think it's perfectly okay for a guy to cry. In fact I think it's good when they can. He wouldn't let himself and all the bottled up emotions caused him great pain.

I don't have a man right now, but I've seen many men cry (including my ex-husband). It doesn't change my opinion of them, except for reassuring me that they are human.

I briefly dated a guy who cried three times in my presence. Once at a movie that wasn't that sad. Then after a story I told which wasn't meant to be sad, but he said was "so touched by it". The last time was because I wouldn't sleep with him (by then my attraction to him had plummeted). After that last crying incident, I thought he was such a big baby and that was the end of that.
But men crying for good reasons makes me teary eyed myself. Last night I watched a documentary on the lives of men fighting in Iraq. All these big tough men choking back tears. My eyes were getting blurry as they were filled with tears too at these mens' stories.

Also, the saddest day of my life was when I was 16 and walked into a room and saw my Dad crying. That hurts me just bringing it up now.

No, I haven't. I would be suprised if I did, and a little relieved that he showed emotion like that.

When I was still with him (my husband), I saw him break down under the pressure of his problems a few times. At first, I was sympathetic and sensitive to his tears. After all, what woman doesn't appreciate a man who is honest with himself and others about his emotions? But after I'd been rooted in the situation for a year or so, I stopped feeling pity when he cried. Everything that made him weep was his own doing and I saw it as weakness. Call me cruel and cold-hearted, but after a while I could no longer tolerate his crying.

I refuse to be romantically involved with a man who thinks he's too manly to cry.

That said, I karaoked a love song for my fiancé that had him just a little wet-eyed and flushed in the face. That's as far as I've seen him go. It's not that he never cries but that he's not particularly inclined to. He told me once that the last time he outright cried was when he son moved out. That was almost four years ago, and we hadn't met yet. So no, I haven't seen him just thoroughly break down. It would probably take someone's death to make that happen, and I'm not in a hurry to see it.

And I agree with other answerers that, while we want our men to be sensitive and show human emotions, some can carry it too far. Give me sweet and sensitve, but hold the slushy please.
