Vermicelli is really really thin and takes just a few minutes to cook. Spaghetti looks downright fat compared to vermicelli. And then there is bucatini, which is spaghetti with a hole in the center. I love using that as the sauces get inside and hold onto the pasta.
I actually know what spaghetti is, that's the difference.
Vermicelli is thinner and flatter than spaghetti.
Vermecelli (little worms in Italian) is very thin strands of pasta, about 1/3 diam. of spaghetti.
