You're reading My girlfriend and I allowed a friend to move in to our extra room. Then a few days later, the office allowed him to sign onto our lease without our permission. Is this lease still valid? He is very disrespectful, unclean, and won't pay me for bills. HELP!

We weren't aware of the way he lived until he moved in. He has been here for 2 months now, and still has not cleaned a single dish or taken out the trash. I've resorted to using plastic utensils because we have ran out of clean dishes! You would have to see pictures to fully understand how bad it is. By the way, this is Oklahoma. I have asked in the leasing office about why he was signed on without our permission and they said that doing so is allowed. And then they said that we have to have his permission to sign him off of the lease that we didn't put him on in the first place.

So basically, some homeless person could come in and say "I want to be on Bobby's lease" and they would allow it? What was your address again? I, um, just want to know it for my records.

Exactly what I'm thinking. With the way this works, I could sign myself on to all of my neighbors leases, tell each resident that for $100, I'll take my name off their lease, and Profit!

I bet this loser got thrown out by his wife or girlfriend and they just felt sorry for him. Who should be felt sorry for now?? I would move his crap out onto the sidewalk and physically remove him from the premises.

Of course he has the right to sign the lease if you and the office agreed to make him a tenant. If you don't think letting someone move in should make them a tenant then you should start voting against tenants' rights ASAP.
