That depends on your budget, but my experience is that buying a cheap battery is a false economy. On the other hand, a quality battery with proper care will last *quite* a while and cost less than replacing a cheap battery two or three times. I have run a battery pack that was older than some of the people I was racing with. It also depends on whether you are after speed or run-time. If you don't compete much, you can get away with a little less battery, but if run-time matters, sometimes an extra $5-10 can make a BIG difference.
