Pay up, and learn the lesson.
What was so fun about putting up a fake bid?
Pay it. Learn.
Imagine if it was your item that was being sold and you had to pay re-listing fees and wait more time for the money you may desperately need.Still want to place a 'fun' bid?
When you place a bid you are making a promise to purchase the item. I made a mistake once, clicked on purchase when I didn't mean to. I sent an e-mail to the vendor saying that I left the computer unattended and my little nephew started playing and made a purchase without knowing what he was doing...they believed my story and didn't give me a negative feedback. I became an E-Bay member on Sept. 10, 2001 (the day before...) and it has been a positive experience, with a couple of exceptions out of 200+ transactions. I learned my lesson, I have been more careful with my "clicks". Try making a story like the one I made. It won't cost you anything, and, be more careful next time!
you can either pay up, run the risk of being sued or you can claim total incompetance and hope that they go away.
Sounds like you have a gambling obsession with a twist. You expected to lose the bid, but kept bidding anyway. This one caught up to you. Pay up, and quit.
You should honor the agreement and make the payment. You're messing with people's livelihood. It's not a game. That sale might have put dinner on the table.
PAY UP
Don't do that crap. Unless you actually intend to purchase the item, don't even make a bid "just for fun." By doing that, you jack up the price of the item so people who DO want to buy it have to pay more just because you decided it would be fun to click. Regardless of whether you thought you were outbid, if you won the auction you're obligated to purchase the item. I believe there are even disclaimers saying that by bidding you're entering a legally binding contract to purchase the item if you win. Don't quote me, but I know it tells you something like that.
A lot of people on eBay use the site to make their principal income. Don't screw with that, clicking shouldn't be that much fun.
Pay up and go find a website with games to have fun on :)
create a paypal account if you have not already and claim your prize! maybe they will throw in some free stuff too!
Ignore them and never give them any of your bank details.
please make sure you make the payment so you can achieve your aim may thy almighty God bless and your home.

Contact the owner of the bid and work something out with him/her. Their email/phone number/or address should be on that site.

I though that you weren't allowed to give out your phone number but I'm certain that you can give out your address
