My gpa gave me a truck but did not sign the title what does dmv do abt that? also he lives in another state.

Mail the title to him and have him sign it. I had this issue with a car I bought off craigslist and the DMV would not put it in my name until they got the signature of the person who sold it to me.

They will not be able to transfer the title over to you without it being signed by the person currently on it.
