I would look for another job. You are basically giving most of it to the union. What does the union offers in return? Unions are going out of style. Your union might not even last.
Don't give up on the union. When the economy picks up you'll be happy you stuck with them. keep looking for other jobs. and hey, your 17 so you may be able to pick up odd jobs around the neighborhood, make a flyer on your computer for anything you can do clean/mow/fix/tutor etc and put them in neighbors mailboxes. You may be surprised.
1) Get a new job or second job.
2) Be thankful you even have a job. In this bad time, there are many people out there with families to support and have no source of income.
find a non union job. then you wont have to pay a bunch of greedy union bosses who dont really do anything anyway accept make trouble.

You're reading I never get any hours at my part-time job. only one day a week and the union takes all of my check :(. what should i do to get more money? im 17. thanks!
