I would check with your vet before doing this, but see if you can grind it and mix it with their food.
If you can desolve it, you should put it in a plate with water so they can drink it up.
My female dog, after she was spayed, would be in a lot of pain and we had to give her aspirins for it. She wouldn't eat it just like that, and we didn't want to force it on her, and also we were a bit scared that she might choke on it. So we would just fill the bottom of her water bowl with water and desolve the pill. We'd make sure she drank it, which she did, all of it, and then refill her water.
As long as the pill is pre-scored and the animal gets the full recommended dose it should be fine.
Try putting each piece in the cats favorite soft treats. This worked for my discourage able cat.
If it still does not work check with your vet for alternatives.

You're reading If my vet recommended a pill the size of an excedrin for my cat, should i score it in 4 parts so she doesn't choke? or can they handle a pill that size? (they are pre-scored pills, but she needs a full pill dosage).
