You're reading Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines? Why? Why not?

Are you overweight, a high school dropout, or over 34?
by FLYxNIGHT on March 2nd, 2007
None of the above. I am 6' 155lbs. I graduated high school before I was even 17. I am now 29. (I think the military also just reduced it's qualifications. They will now take you if you didn't graduate and you can be a bit older I think.)

So what is "your kind"?
A Communist?
by FLYxNIGHT on March 2nd, 2007
The gay kind. We apparently can't join because we would be too busy trying to seduce all the straight soldiers that we wouldn't get any killing done.

You'd always be the sharpest troops in an inspection.
Sorry, I don't mean to be ignorant, but isn't the "Don't ask, don't tell" thing still in effect, or did Dumbya repeal that?
by FLYxNIGHT on March 2nd, 2007
Oh, it's still in effect... sort of. The truth is they still actively look for gays and boot them out. I've had two friends get kicked out. Personally, "Don't ask, Don't tell" is nothing but an insult to me. I am not going to hide something that everyone else doesn't have to hide- especially not when they are asking me to risk my life.

I don't know, but I'm just as disinterested in hearing about someone's heterosexuality as I am in someone's homosexuality. I don't want to hear about it from anyone.
by FLYxNIGHT on March 3rd, 2007
Oh, I know what you mean. The difference is that it would be fine for one person to say, "My girlfriend and I had a nice dinner last night." I wouldn't even be able to have simple conversations like that without lying. Plus, if I lived with someone I would never be able to have military friends visit my home, etc.

That's very sad; some of my best friends are gay and I've never thought anything of it. I'd say that I don't understand why what another person thinks, feels, or does should have any meaning to me, but then I realize that would make me a hypocrite due to my deep distrust, bordering on hatred, of the religious right. But unlike homosexuals, they ARE trying to force their ways on the rest of us.
