  • Parliament- They were so much more talented on so many levels. They had Julliard graduates as well as former members of James Brown's bands. Their silly antics often overshadowed their brilliance. Maggot Brain is still among he greatest guitar solos of all time. They also had a range that Rick James could not touch. They played everything from doo-wop to ballads, to political commentary to psychedelic.
  • That is the perfect setup ... c'mon ... it must be ... RICK JAMES ... BIACH!!!
  • parliament ~ pfunk was the bomb. george clinton & bootsy collins and the other band members were phenomenally talented musicians. parliament had some of the phatest funkiest tunes ever. rick james, had a good hit or two, but was funk lite ~ he was more of a pop artist in my opinion. his music just didnt have the soulfulness of parliament. parliament's revolutionary music has influenced many artists from hard rock to rap. and i give them extra props for their outrageousness on stage. only bootsy collins would perform in see-through platform boots with live goldfish in them. listening to parliament makes me want to tear the roof off the sucka! give me the funk please.
