No I chose to retire. Never really felt the bad economy for myself but have seen it effect others and for this I am saddened.

In a way yes. I was promised a job and then they decided to hire through a temp agency so they didn't have to pay benefits and pay as much salary as they were going to pay. I can't seem to find a job because everyone is going through temp agencies here and so I guess you could say yes.

In a way, yes. The economy didn't get me laid off, it just prevented me from getting my old job back.

Or any other job for that matter.

I'm pretty safe in the Marine Corps. I'm still getting my pay raises every year. As long as I don't hurt a young Marines feelings because that is Hazing nowadays. Don't want them to feel stress before they go to war now do we ... lol

Nah, just 20% salary cut, loss of bonuses, loss of 401k match, loss of employee stock purchase program discount...all the while going from high teens to #9 in the Fortune 500. It may be time to develop heavy short positions on a certain company's seemingly-overvalued stock that has had ~30% increase in share price the first 6 months of '09.

You heard it on the internet.
    It MUST be true.

  • I am very fortunate to own a small manufacturing business and I'm happy to say we are having a very good year. I was, in years past, a Telephone Co. Engineer and after I retired, I re-activated Del-Val Stamp Co. My very best +3

    No.

Is it your job of the company's job? A lot of people think their job belongs to them and it doesn't.
