Question

Help answer this question below.

I took my 90 yr old grandpa to the public toilet in a supermarket. (He cannot walk very fast & has bladder problems). He could not use it because it was closed for cleaning & cleaner said if she opened it everyone would have to use it. What do you think?

that's why the cleaner is a cleaner. it's called stupidity or lack of judgment.

you should:

1. make a formal complaint to the manager of the store
and
2. make a formal complaint, in writing, to the corporate office

- Thankyou very much for the advice. I did think it was wrong. The cleaner told us the next closest toilet was just round the corner and it was about half a mile away.

Thats not right....that doesnt seem like very good customer service, I would have said something to the manager. She just didnt wanna stop what she was doing...Not cool, I would have fired her if she was my worker. Expecially a 90 year old man, if he lost it...it would have been embarressing...

- you need to, also describe what the worker looked like so they know exactly who it is. You need to better the service for the customers in the future. Keep it from happening to somebody else. I used to be supervisor of a big chain store, I would not have allowed that to happen. They would have been going home very early that day......if they wanted to rush their job like that in the first place.

- thanks again. i did not think it should be allowed to happen either, and my grandpa was quite upset by it. i think the cleaner just wanted to get home early. I noticed she had the womens toilets, mens toilets and the disabled toilets all out of use at the same time and had pushed a big trolley infront of the entrance to the toilets.

Well sometimes they won't let anyone go in there. They could have been mopping and he could have slipped and fell and then he could have sued them. He couldn't use the Ladies room? I use the boys room all the time.

I can see her point but she should have had a little compassion because one day her parents (maybe grandparents now) will be old as will she and she will expect someone to let her use the bathroom. She could have let him in and then told the manager if someone said something..most customers would understand and not complain. I would have complained had that been me and my grandfather. That is poor customer service. I would write a letter to or call the manager and let him know what happened
