A business has a fiduciary responsibility towards shareholders to maximize shareholder value. It has a responsibility to the government to operate by the rules, follow laws and regulations. It has a moral and social responsibility to the environment to cause no harm, mitigate the harm it does cause and to choose operational methods that avoid negative impact to the environment as much as possible. This is just my personal opinion.
