  • Your federal benefits should transfer without a problem - yes, you would notify the Social Security Administration in advance, such that your payments are properly directed. You would have to apply for state benefits in Carolina, but if you are already receiving SSI that probably won't be a problem. SSI benefits vary from state to state with states adding more or less to the monthly payment. This site may have the phone number/email that will be able to give u answers

  • It will transfer. However be aware that people in CA get more of a check than those in SC..you will need to inform SS at least 30 days ahead of time of your new address to get it processed in time.
