You make it sound as if it is cocaine or ice. There is nothing to it in leaving meat out for good. If anyone complains about how hard it is, then such a person is just simply a sissy whiner.

Due to health reasons, I was forced to withhold meat a few months ago.

I did years ago, and couldn't make myself eat a hunk of rotting animal if you offered me $10,000!

I look forward to an average three to five year longer life-span, no arteriosclerosis, and reduced risk of cancer! Living with a higher level of ethics also does a great deal for the environment, and saves lives. Quite the win win situation.

    NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might as well forgo sex and beer for all the good it will do me. Our bodies are built for a diet of not just herbivore foods or carnivore foods but both! Supplements let you choose without too much health problems but its just a hassle. Course eat what you want this is just me. I LOVE MEAT!!!!

Not for good, but I don't eat it as much because it's not so healthy in large quantities and expensive. I love it too much to cut it out completely. Once a day, maybe a few times a week. Not as diffacult to cut out as I thought it would be. :)

I could if I absolutely had to but, I would not want to. I grew up "dirt poor" and we only had a "meat" item (and I use the term rather loosely), once a week or once every other week. Even then, it was usually these little imitation wieners called "party-pups". If we ate them as a hot dog, the red dye would turn the bread solid red! Usually, the only way we got them served was mixed into something (like mac & cheese), or a goulash-type dish. Either way, we were just thrilled to have some kind of meat.
Having grown up that way, I wouldn't (by choice) go without meat now.

I don't eat much meat. It isn't the main course for me like most people.

I ate no meat for one year when I was 26, and I didn't miss it at all. The only reason I started eating it again was that it was so hard to FIND and keep food items or recipes which didn't include meat. I've concluded that if I moved to a society which didn't eat meat, that I could easily never eat it.

Although, I have nothing against eating meat, I just don't see it as a main requirement for a meal.

  • Not completely, no. For health reasons, I've cut out the really fatty cuts and eat leaner beef, poultry and fish. I do eat veggie burgers a lot for lunch, but mostly because they are so low in fat and I'm trying to maintain my weight loss. I can cut down, but I'd never completely cut it out. I was raised in the meat-and-potatoes midwest. We like our BBQ too much!

Sure I could do it, there are plenty of substitutes for it, although I would rather not cause meat is delicious.

    Stick it!!

Not sure, sometimes meat smells really awful, however it seems to be an energy food for me. Need to have it at lest once a day or I run out of energy. Tried alternate high protein diets that don't do the same thing. Not sure why though.
