I take it that you have NEVER had a dirty window Including your car windshield) in your life either then.
You do need to clean them occasionally. Even a small speck of dust can throw them off enough to not be able to read properly. Remember, the things that it is reading (light and dark spots on a DVD) are smaller than a speck of dust.
To get an idea of what dust can do to a DVD player, hold your hand about two feet directly in front of your face. Now look around the room and see how much you can't see.
just blow on the inside of it thats what i do

when I plugin my rca home theater sys the standby light comes on. when i push any button on the unit it turns off.the remote doesnt work too

We have a Disney Princess dvd vhs combo. The vhs/vcr works fine but the dvd play says "incorrect disc". What is wrong?

Ihave a sonydvd with no sound.It worked with the surroundsound but now not direct to the tv.Is there a setting to send the sound to the tv?

You're reading Is it necessary to clean dvd players? I was under the impression since they are laser, that there was nothing to clean.
