I live in the middle of a vast swampland so there are several bridges over various "rivers and streams" I would have to cross.

I live in a small country town that is surrounded by other small country towns. there is no road here that does not have a bridge on it. I can not drive down any road here for 5 minutes without crossing a bridge.

Several for small streams and what not. About 1 hour after leaving, I'd cross the Red River, as well.

Only very small ones over streams. Just over an hour though and I'd have to cross the Connecticut River.

Yes. Several. One over the Potomac River, one over Cub Run, one over Bull Run, one over the Shenendoah River (the last one if I drove on the fast side).

When I would drive 1 hour towards West I would find myself in the Baltic Sea, so a ferry would be a good idea for me when heading that way.

If we could manage to drive through a few apple orchards, without getting shot, we might be lucky enough to cross a bridge, or else end up, up ended in the irrigation canal, 30 feet wide or so. Got a TEE intersection North/South about a quarter mile west, down our road.

If I left my house and walked Due West... In about 5 minutes I would be in San Pablo Bay... If I continued walking (assuming I could walk on water or had SCUBA equipment) about 45 minutes I would be passing under the Golden Gate Bridge... So after an hour of going West, I would be in the Pacific Ocean... Nope, no bridges... They haven't built the bridge to Hawaii yet... Aloha...
