  • Nope. According to articles on the Google website there is no documented proof of a human being eaten alive by piranhas.
  • If you find something on video forward it to me so I can take a look at it...
  • No. Piranhas are basically scavenging fish and any accidental attacks on humans have been blown out of proportions. Actually villagers on the banks of the Amazon regularly bathe in Piranha infested waters and do not come to any harm. It is their intimidating looks and appearance of their teeth that have given piranhas a bad name. I give this answer based on a Discovery Channel documentary I watched.
  • Yes. I saw a study of the truth of the piranha's reputation on Nat. Geo. There was a bus accident and some of the passengers stuck underwater in the bus were eaten by piranhas. It is likely they were dead before the attack and that blood in the water attracted the fish.
  • I don't think this quite qualifies as eaten alive, but definitely a couple of bites !! LOL :) ....
  • Yes, if the sources can be trusted, as (other than the bus incident) there are pics of some poor guy, who was working on a gas line who fell into the water, and cut himself on something, which attracted the pirahna, and there are pictures of this guys body, in which ALL of the flesh on his right hand and face are missing, not for the squeamish (link here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/7573872/Piranhas)
  • No, but watch out for those mutant ill-tempered sea bass...;-D.. . . .
