  • Well, there is something having been said by some biblical figure that equates to: Two or more people gathered in my (God's/Jesus's) name to ask for something, guarantees it shall be done. Thus, is you send a request in, we assume a group of people will be praying, hopefully two or more. Which, would then grant you your request. In theory.
  • It's a nice way of keeping the flock in line. so long as they're praying they're not thinking.
  • It's known that God counts the prayers and answers them in quantity order. Isn't that the democratic way?
  • God listens to his soldiers. It takes dedication to service and desire to do what he asks to be a soldier. plus he listens to what comes out of a person's heart regarding the current need. generally prayers for other people work better than prayers for ones self. often an answer to prayer isnt seen in the proper light and gets ignored or negated.
  • I have never heard it put that way before! I believe each and every prayer is heard! and is as individual as aa person praying? As for the number of votes and the rest.......not in my belief system.
  • I hope not. That's too American Idol for me :)
  • well it's not by force it's more of a mass humble appeal
  • The power of prayer is immense. One sincere being praying can move mountains. However, when an entire group prays for something, you can change the world.
  • I wish I could find my answer to a similar question from last week! I said it better than this, but I'm in a hurry, sorry! I believe that God is always ready to grant all love, peace, supply, and health & wholeness, as you are open to receive it. Even further, God IS all love, peace, health, etc, and is present in us as we are part of creation. As we align our consciousness with God / Tao / Oneness / Allness, we become in synch with that and it expresses in our inner and outer lives. I believe that we're all connected, part of the God spark in all of us. People who pray can tap into the collective Oneness and help the pray-ee open up to the Presence. Or am I babbling? ;)
  • Noooo.. god sits on the throne...the shitter for those of you out of the loop there.. He hears prayers then gets pissed off getting so many at once then every few million years or so just slaughters the human race and starts over so all you praying suckers out there KNOCK IT THE HELL OFF! I'm not in the mood to be slaughtered quite yet.
  • God only listens to those that pray to Him with an open heart as those that are dedicated to Him feel His presence. He commands us to approach Him with "worship and praise". The way I do it is that I start in this way approaching God in prayer, I will worship and praise Him and pray in the Holy Spirit, in tongues and even at some point the "Holy Spirit" will say to me "What are your requests", God is great as He always answers my prayers. God is amazing as I have heard His voice through my faith.
  • I think its more that like any parent, God likes to be asked. He also has a history of, like any good father, taking the wants and needs of His children to heart. That doesn't mean that He automatically grants every request. Sometimes the answer is still no. But He has a history of listening to prayer requests and taking them into account. When He destroyed Sodom and Gommorrah, Abraham asked Him not to destroy the cities if righteous men could be found within their walls. He bargained God down from fifty men to ten men. God agreed not to destroy the cities if even ten righteous men could be found within the walls. When He couldn't find ten righteous men, what He did instead was get the few righteous men out before the destruction. The point is that God talked with Abraham, He listened to Abraham, and He modified His plans based on that discussion. That is what any good father does. God the father is the model for good fathers.
