No. The Jetstream is simply a high speed wind at certain altitudes, including those in which modern jets fly. Such jets are flying in the jetstream all the time, and all it does is make their journey shorter or longer depending upon whether they are going with or against it. It is an extremely well understood phenomenon which jets handle routinely.
