Help answer this question below.
Yes, several times, when my mother got bad the last year of her life. She had some cardiac issues and hypoglycemia (because she wouldn't eat properly). A few times I found her collapsed on the floor when I came home from work. Once she was in the downstairs bathroom and fell against the door and the paramedics couldn't open it, so they had to take out the bathroom window and crawl through it. The day I found her dead, I also called.
i've never called 911 cos it doesn't work in england.but i have called 999 before.
Damn skippy! I grew up in the projects.
I live by a high school! What do you think?
If you work in an office where you must dial 9 to get an outside line, and then 1 before a long distance call, you will understand why the Police will call when they get a "hang up 911".
Someone in my office will do this and then the Police will call me and I have to ask the other folks "did anyone accidentally dial 911?".
My best friend and her friend did when her parents weren't home. My friend katie and her friend courtney were playing and jumping around the house and then katie got the telephone and pushed in 911 and then hit the send/talk/etc button! Then they hung up real quick. And we all know what happens next right? The cops came to her house. And right after katie's MOTHER pulls in the drive way to see the cops talking to the girls and they are crying! What a story!
When my mother had to heart attack I did
Yes, twice. Both times at work. Years ago a customer had a heart attack in the store I worked in. The second time was just a few months ago. A woman fell in the street in front of my store and broke her knee, she wanted an ambulance.
An upstairs neighbor like young (legal, but young) boys. Young boys like cash... One of the young boys decided he was just gonna take the cash and beat the hell outa my neighbor. I heard enough and called 911. My neighbor survived. He didn't learn. Some people never do.
Once by accident. I was working part time at a gas station years ago and had someone drive off. (did not pay) I was so stunned by it that I picked up the phone and dialed 911! realizing the error of my ways - that this wasn't a true emergency- I hung up. Well of course they called back and I had the embarrassing job of explaining my faux pas.
a couple of times after that to report someone in distress.
My mother would always push redial on my phone and hassle my friends to see if I really went to their house. So one day I dialed "911" but hung up before it went through. Later I came home, and my mom was all smiling and asking why I called "911", and needless to say I busted her : )
In the UK we use 999 to contact the emergency services.
I have used it once.
Well, im in the UK, so we use 999. But iv called it quite a few times.
I have call 911 twice from workplace. Never from home.
a few
I have called 911 three times:
1) I had severe chest pains (turned out to be Esophagitis)
2) A parked car caught fire in the parking lot next to my home.
3) A deer wandered down from the hills and was standing in the street, obstructing traffic and endangering itself.
Yesterday, when that tree fell on my powerlines. They told me to fuck off and call the right people.
I called them a few times before that, but this was recent.
My mom was trying to call my sister one February morning to tell her of my aunt's passing. That was when the doorbell rang and when I answered it there was a police officer at the door asking if anyone had called emergency. She had a sense of humor saying she didn't come all the way out to say Good Morning. But my mom explained saying she must have dialed 911 when she meant to dial the area code for westchester county in NY. The officer understood and said so long as everything was alright.
Yep. I called once for a fire, once when my daughter fell head-first onto a tile floor (she was okay, and didn't need the trip to the hospital, but I panicked) and once when a friend started having a severe asthma attack and asked me to call. I'm sure given more years in my life, I'll call more times.
Many, many times.
I did once when I was on the road and passed an accident with a motorcycle in the opposite direction. The operator said yes we got that call already thank you
yep
wen i was kid for knowing what happens...
NEVER! We call 999 as the other person said!
At home twice, at work several times, we have very sickly people though so we have alot of code blues :(
No, the emergency No. in the UK is 999
No, Australia's emergency number is 000. And thankfully I've never had to call that either.
Yes, when I see an accident on the road, and once when my neighbor was beating his wife.
Just once and that was to test our phone system to ensure that users could dial 911 directly or use out the outside number and 911 ( e.g. dial 8 to get an outside line and then dial 911).
I called the police first to tell them I wanted to test this so that 911 would know I was calling and know it was not an actual emergency.
Oh yes! Never because I needed them though! Once about a year ago, when I was working at a daycare, I accidently pressed the 9 button while it was in my pocket. Next thing I know I hear this voice coming from my pocket saying " Please state your emergency".
I hung up as fast as I could! Luckily the police never came, my boss would have killed me!
Yes.
Yes. Have you?
yes ,that was emergency
Yes, what a joke
No... have never needed to... though i did play around with my friend when we were 10.. i dialed 911... but didn't push the call button... she got stressed out and almost tackled mee..... she really thought i was going to push it... lol.. i hope i never have too though
I don't even remember all of them, but I've called 911 many times and 999 several times when I was in Britain.
When my brother was attacked as a hate crime and was close to bleeding to death by the time he reached my apartment was one of the most memorable and horrifying!
No but I have 999
Yes, during a high school basketball game when my step-sister tore a ligament in her knee. For some reason I beat everyone else to it, how weird is that?
Once when my neighbor caught his yard on fire burning pucker.
Once, when I witnessed a car burst into flames at the busy intersection near my workplace.
I've only done that once when I lived in Brooklyn. My sister was having a baby!
never, I AM THE LAW
Nope...its best that way I suppose
I was at a bar and a guy was being a dink to his g/f so she asked me if I could give her a ride home,he ran outside the bar with a broken bottle and said that he was going to kill. We rushed in the car locked the doors , thats when I called 911. They arrested him.
yes a few times..once when I saw a really bad car accident....once when a man was lying passed out in the middle of a road and I thought he'd get run over....and once when a man was lying on the sidewalk I phoned an ambulance.
The last time was when some guy in the woods by my house was screaming that he had a broken leg. We called 911 then me and my roommate went out and looked for him. Turned out to be a hoax
The highways near here are pretty curvy and the weather sucks, so there's a lot of accidents, we've called a couple times when people flip or crash or go off the road
When I was a kid, my uncle had some kind of seizure, it was just me and him in the house
Yes. Witnessed a car wreck, where a man lost control and hit a palm tree. Another wreck, where I saw a car in my rear-view-mirror slam into the guard rail, during a rainstorm. Another time, I saw a woman in her car, stuck on some railroad tracks.
Yes, reporting a wreck outside the store where I work.
Last time I dialed 911 - This kid walked up to me and said her mom was stuck (while smirking)
Turned out a Sewer lid flipped up when her mom stepped on it.
I haven't ever had to call 911 personally, but I hope I keep it up and never have to.
I have called several times at work. One time an employee hurt herself and we needed an ambulance. Several times, I needed the police to "escort" someone out of the store.
